Kristina Garske

PhD candidate in Genetics and Genomics

Kristina is a PhD candidate in her 6th year in Genetics & Genomics at UCLA. Her work focuses on identifying genomic regulatory pathways that contribute to complex cardiometabolic disorders, such as obesity and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. She is particularly interested in understanding chromatin dynamics in metabolic cell and tissue responses to external stimuli, ranging from dietary fat uptake to differentiation signals. Kristina loves camping and backpacking, playing musical instruments, and spending maximum time with friends and family.
